The Giza Pyramids, the Egyptian Museum, and Old Cairo are three destinations rarely left off a classic Egypt itinerary, but traveling to Cairo from Hurghada means expensive flights or inconvenient public transport.
Make an early start for your trip to Cairo with a 1 am pickup at Hurghada hotels, and take a nap in a private vehicle during the 6-hour drive from Hurghada to Cairo. Meet an Egyptologist guide upon arrival in Cairo, where you’ll start by visiting the Pyramids at Giza. Explore the Great Pyramid, Continue to the smaller pyramids of Khafre and Menkaure, then get sweeping views of the pyramids from the plateau. If desired, book a camel ride around the pyramids (own expense).
Then visit a nearby restaurant for lunch. After your meal, continue to the Egyptian Museum. Enter the walls of Old Cairo, where you’ll tour the Mosque of Ibn Tulun, the oldest surviving Cairo mosque still in its original form. At the end of your time in Cairo, make the return trip to Hurghada, and finish the day with a drop-off at your hotel.
